Job Responsibilities

Clinical Quality; Patient Safety; Practice Policies:
Provides oversight for the development and management of the overall quality program, inclusive of appropriate quality metrics and measurement systems that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

oDevelops appropriate strategies to facilitate improvement in quality metrics and performance relative to national benchmarks.
oDevelops and enhances processes to ensure patient safety.
oResponsible for improvement and reporting of quality metrics to support the Corporate Quality Dashboard in collaboration with the Clinical Office and Walgreens CMO.
oCreates standard reporting to facilitate assessment of quality delivery.
oChairs the Quality Committee.

Leads team in the development of clinical policies and procedures; Chairs the Policy Review Committee.

oTranslates evidence-based medicine guidelines provided by office of Walgreens CMO into clinical policies.
oIdentifies knowledge expert and manages relationship with him/her for key evidence-based medicine guidelines (e.g., JNC-7 expert for hypertension).
oChairs policy and procedure review and committee sign off.

Ensures appropriate quality, education and training, and compliance standards set to enable delivery of high quality care.

Responsible for assuring a robust collaborating physician and peer review process, ensuring quality, safety, and service.

Leads all initiatives related to patient safety, quality, infection control and risk management.

Provides oversight and management of patient complaint and incident report escalation process.

Credentialing & Collaborative Practice Physicians:
Directs all Credentialing, Provider Data and Delegated Credentialing functions while overseeing the operations of the department including selection, training, and supervision of staff.
Assures compliance with Federal and State law and accrediting and licensing agencies.
Manages the collaborative physician program, overseeing the selection of collaborative practice physicians to appropriately support Healthcare Clinic operations.
Directs and coordinates all health system affiliations, aligning clinical work streams and Healthcare Clinic/Health System physicians.

Clinical Informatics:
Partner with IT leadership to evaluate Healthcare Clinics IT systems to ensure systems optimized to best support practice.
Lead team in the developing the requirements for the EMR software and practice management systems.
Lead team in the analysis of medical and health data.
Leverage medical and health data to improve services and daily operations.

New Program and Services Development:
Provides clinical leadership in development of clinical service expansion strategy. Works collaborative with Walgreens CMO to identify, develop and support implementation of new clinical services.
Serves as the expert resource and consultant to senior management in the assessment of a variety of strategic and new business initiatives.
Acts as a national leader on primary care transformation, including presenting at external forums about Healthcare Clinic programs that improve outcomes and generate total medical cost savings.

Research:
In collaboration with the Clinical Office, architects Healthcare outcomes research plan in support of demonstrated delivery against the triple aim.

Accreditation:
Manages the AAAHC accreditation process for new clinics and re-accreditation process for existing clinics.

Other:
Participates in professional organizations and represents Healthcare Clinics in a professional, competent, and credible manner in the community.
Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination of the intra-department activities and inter-department integration.

Promotes information sharing, benchmarking, and best practice identification across the system.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications & Interests

An MD degree and an MBA or other advanced management degree. (Preference for a primary care physician).
A demonstrated track record of superior performance in physician leadership roles; a background should have been gained ideally in a health system or major medical group that is recognized for excellence in clinical care and contemporary medical management practices.
Business skills in planning, use of information systems, financial management, budgeting, reimbursement and managed care, healthcare economics, medical practice management, program development, and referral base development desired.
Minimum of 10 years of administrative and operational experience in ambulatory or physician practice management with demonstrated success as part of a senior leadership team.
At least 10 years of progressive senior level leadership and management experience including practicing and delivering high quality patient care.
Demonstrated oversight of high number of ambulatory practices with multi-site state responsibility.
Significant understanding of and experience with performance improvement and quality management programs.
Solid knowledge of the AAAHC accreditation processes.
Experience in clinical informatics development and multi-site implementation.
Demonstrated success/proven track record in leading improvements in healthcare quality.
Experience working in an external capacity to promote an organization's product or service.
Experience managing and leading a team in a virtual and matrix environment with shared resources.
Experience in professional development and building talent.
Minimum of 10 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
At least 10 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
Willing to travel up to 40% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications & Interests

MBA or related advanced degree (for example: MPH).
Primary care physician who has physician practice management experience including developing and managing physician networks.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
