SUMMARY The Chief Meteorologist will be responsible for overall meteorology operations in the provision of aviation, ship and station meteorological services. This position will supervise and monitor assigned meteorologists, forecasters and observers and products related to each task order issued in relations to meteorological operational functions in Charleston, SC and McMurdo Station, Antarctica. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including:

Maintains a core staff of certified forecasters and observers to ensure continuity between operational seasons, to be prepared for mid-winter operations, provide emergency operational support and to be capable of training seasonal personnel with efficiency. Overall responsibility for the oversight of all contract meteorological functions. Maintains full operational and administrative responsibility to ensure all assigned tasks are accomplished. Implementation of continuous improvements for efficiency and effectiveness of work methods, products, organizations, manpower utilization and customer support. Implements and maintains an effective training program focused on meeting operational requirements. Develops and manages a certification program for all NPP MET positions. Acts as a certifying official. Fills Staff Meteorological Manager position when deployed. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or other natural sciences which includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of credit in meteorology or atmospheric science and meet WMO-258 Basic Instruction Package - Meteorologist (BIP-M) qualifications. At least six (6) years of experience in Operational Meteorology. Three (3) of those six (6) years of technical experience shall have been in support of program and services provided by operational weather office. Forecasting experience in Polar Regions, curriculum development and analytical case study development is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION A valid passport is required and is reimbursable JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Must be able to perform job duties in extreme, cold, dark, work environments. Must pass medical and dental examination prior to deployment; expenses are reimbursable. Extensive knowledge of meteorology and forecasting future weather events. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver concise, untestable and accurate forecasts. Excellent managerial and supervisory skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Mastery in meteorological computer systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
